My work expresses my response to nature using textile techniques and sometimes, unorthodox materials.
About The Artist
Above all I strive for beauty as essentially it is a celebration of life, expressive of things I love such as waves lapping, shadows, and rustling leaves. I think of myself as an artist/designer/maker because I seem unable to restrict myself to one technique! I have held solo exhibitions at the Queens Theatre, Barnstaple and The Landmark, Ilfracombe.
I am an Exhibiting Member of the Westward Ho! and Bideford Art Society who produce the annual Summer Exhibition at the Burton Gallery, Bideford. My work has been selected twice for the Annual Open Exhibition at the Barnstaple Museum. I teach and exhibit at “Twisted Thread”, Alexandra Palace and Olympia and at the Fashion, Embroidery and Stitch shows at the NEC and Excel.
My work has been exhibited at Sir Harald Hillier Gardens in Hampshire. I am a member of the South West Textile Group exhibiting with them nationally although mostly in the South West.
My 3D art and craft and range of fashion accessories is for sale on Etsy and I recently purchased the “Periwinkle” in Ilfracombe’s Fore Street which I am evolving into “Tea & Togs at the Periwinkle Art & Craft Cafe” I sell a range of delicious teas and coffees, snacks, inexpensive Italian clothing and my own art and crafts and accessories and run workshops.
