About The Artist
John Hurford is a North Devon Farmer who became a full time painter in 2001 after the foot and mouth outbreak. He is a trustee of the South West Academy and his work has been reproduced in many magazines and books. His early work is in the collection of the V&A museum and has been shown in the Whitney in New York and the Tate in Liverpool.
His books include: “Johnny, the work of psychedelic artist John Hurford” (Sunrise Press 2006) “The Art of Big O” (Big Vision Publications 2015) “Artist as Muse” (2014) “Later Graphic Work”(2015). He was selected for “Artist of the Year” in the Mall Galleries for 2014 and 2016.
